 İyelik ekleri (Possive suffixes)

You can use this grammar when you want to show to whom, to what the nouns belong. For this reason, it is called Aitlik ekleri which means Belonging suffixes in English. There are different ways to be used according to the Pronouns and we can identify which subjects are used by this suffixes. 

Ben - Benim - Benim adım Ömer. (My name is Ömer)

Sen - Senin - Senin adın Meryem. (Your name is Meryem)

O - Onun - Onun adı Hüseyin. (His name is Hüseyin)

Biz - Bizim - Bizim adımız Türk. (Our name is Türk)

Siz - Sizin - Sizin adınız Alman. (Your name is Alman)

Onlar - Onların - Onların adı(lar) Ağaç. (Their name is Ağaç)

Note : When a word ends with a vowel you don't need to add another vowel. For example

Araba - arabam

Araba - araban 

Araba - Onun arabası 

Araba - arabamız 

Araba - arabanız 

Araba - Onların arabası (Their car)

           - Onların arabaları (Their cars)

You can use only one word as I mentioned above like arabam and araban without using Benim and Senin, you can easily identify the pronouns by using these suffixes. Do not forget to put S because there is no word with two vowels next to each other in Turkish. And make sure you use the correct vowels which is depending on the last vowel in the word.

Tamlamalar

  Tamlamalar (Noun phrase, Propositional phrase) These are the suffixes that indicate who the nouns are parts of what or whom.  These are  Tamlayan Ekleri (Determining suffixes)   -ın, -in, -un, -ün Tamlanan Ekleri (Determination suffixes) -ı, -i, -u, -ü For example,  Ahmet 'in kalem i - that means Ahmet's pen in English. As you can see in this word "Ahmet" is a determining (Tamlayan), " in " is a determining suffix (Tamlayan ekleri), and "kalem" is a determination (Tamlanan), and " i " is a determination suffix (Tamlanan ekleri).  Diş doktor u - Dentist. In this word, "Diş" which means "tooth" in English, is a determining (Tamlayan), "doktor" which means "doctor" is a determining (Tamlanan) and "u" is a determination suffix.
